People’s lives are spent in the mall, but Surabaya has some surprisingly interesting bits. The old Arab quarter is one of them.

Surabaya is a crowded city. Hate to say this, but the air is quite polluted. The traffic is a mess, you really have to be careful on the road. It’s one of the biggest cities in Indonesia, the cost of living is pretty high, but not as high as it is in Jakarta. The people are nice. There are a lot of rich people here, usually minding their own business. You should move here, it’s a nice city.

It is a city with a much poorer infrastructure than big cities in many other countries. Nonetheless, it is rapidly changing and growing and has a bright future ahead. The friendly citizens make the city worthwhile to live in, even in its current state.

If someone want to move to my city, they should consider two things. First, they should consider that most people ride car or motorbike. Therefore, they have to prepare their own transportation. Public transport in this city is not as good as in the developed country. Secondly, they have to learn our local languages if they want cheaper price in the market.

People who seek jobs try to move to Surabaya as a big city. Those who come up with big dream will compete each other to get higher salary. It is a place of dreaming and catching your dream. While you do not have to put yourself in a rush if wanting to move to other cities. Relax!

Surabaya is quite remarkably known as one of the biggest cities in Indonesia. That being said, living here is tough. To perfectly plan a moving, the socio-economic condition of your life must be put into consideration. You must know what you will do for a living and plan your life for at least the next two years in advance. Once you plan this through, you can proceed with other things like finding a community and settle on your new house.
