Southend is a seaside town with a rich history in UK tourism and traditional fishing practices. This can be seen especially in the historical town of Old Leigh, which is full of fish themed restaurants and cockle sheds. Southend also boasts the longest pier in the United Kingdom, reaching close to 2 miles in length. With regards to the seaside, there is a great deal on offer in terms of leisure and entertainment. Spanning from Hadleigh to Shoeburyness, the beach offers a great deal of open space for leisurely walks and family activities.

Southend-on-Sea is a large town which resides on the coast between Shoeburyness and Westcliff-on-Sea characterised by its attractions which are all within walking distance of each other. The main attractions are the high street and leisure spots located across the seafront; such leisure spots include a theme park, arcades and restaurants all in close proximity to each other. Southend is largely a suburban town outside of the high street, featuring rows of typical terraced or semi-detached houses.

London is a diverse and inspiring place which offers many opportunities. Where I live is 40 minutes from the capital, near the seaside in a town called Southend. The price for accommodation is considerably cheaper. The air is fresh and we hear many seagulls. A new airport opened here recently, generating even more revenue and interest to the area. There are beautiful wide roads and in summer you get to experience beautiful blossom trees on both sides of the road. Jamie Oliver loves cooking in a restaurant opposite the sea.
