Living in Shimoga, Karnataka:
Tips for Moving and Visiting

Shimoga is a city with hot and humid conditions in summer and thundering rain in the monsoons. It is a smart city but I would say there is still room for improvement. You would have a difficulty to find name brand stores. There are limited opportunities and I wouldn’t recommend moving here without specific goals in mind.
People around call this city as the Heart of The tropical area we live. Surrounded by the tropical forest of Western Ghats this city has a persistent weather and heavy rains. The City is large and well known for its cultural diversity. It also includes the world-famous Jog falls, the largest waterfall of India.
Shimoga is in the Malnad region of the state. It is an important hill station in sahyadri mountain range. Our district has Jog Falls which is famous for stream falling from mountain range to a depth of over 57 meters. Someone moving here should carry tight outfits and ample bed sheet, as there is cold in our region.
