While Tokyo may provide the hustle and bustle that visitors usually look for in Japan, Shiki offers the perfect blend of city and rural. One can enjoy the easy access to large shopping malls and captivating panoramic views, while also having the option to immerse in the serenity of the forests. The rent cost in Shiki is normally around ¥50,000, which is less than the ¥70,000 one would have to spend living in the densely populated Tokyo. As for cultural sightseeing, one can visit the nearby area of Kawagoe, known for its preservation of the style of the Edo period.
