It’s very cold but beautiful if you live on the fringes near the Peak District.

Sheffield is a multicultural city. There are two popular and reputable universities, and a plethora of colleges and schools. It has a large city centre with many and varied retail establishments and restaurants and several theatres. There is a good public transport system, including both rail, tram and buses.

Sheffield is the greenest city in Europe. It used to have a thriving steel industry and was famous for making cutlery. It is, by many, to be a friendly city and is often referred to as the largest village in England. Sheffield is in South Yorkshire.

Sheffield is most famous for its steel industry. Due to Sheffield supplying the majority of the world with steel, the name The Steel City was coined in honor of this great city! The city is also known for its music. Sheffield is home to some of the worlds biggest bands such as; The Arctic Monkeys, Def Leppard and The Human League.

Sheffield is a city surrounded by countryside of the most spectacular type. It is, consequently, a fantastic destination for people who like to exercise outdoors or partake in associated activities. It has many other positive points too. These include a wide-ranging industrial heritage, local civic traditions and a history that can be traced back to the Iron Age. Unfortunately since the 1980s, the city has struggled financially because of the closure of many of its local industries. In some respects therefore, the town looks jaded and crime is on the rise.

Sheffield is a wonderful city combining a mixture of leafy, outdoor areas and many examples of the industrial history that has enriched it. Whether it is a day out, walking in the Peak District ending in a pub lunch or spending the day pacing the streets of the city centre, fulfilling shopping needs and resting in a chic cocktail bar after, Sheffield has it all. Public transport is plentiful, should you wish to try and be as green as a large amount of our residents but there is also ample parking.

Sheffield is in the United Kingdom. Anyone relocating here would have to know which areas are safe and which are not. This is important as armed gangs proliferate in certain districts. Consequently, the North and East of Sheffield are thought of as places that strangers, including those from other parts of the city, should avoid. However, the city centre itself is not immune to outbreaks of violence because it has become a mecca of cheap drinking ‘joints’. The police are rarely to be found. The most pleasing environments are to be found in the wests of Sheffield, particularly around the University.

Anyone moving to my city should know it is a very hilly city as it is built on the Pennines. Also our city is well known for the production of Sheffield steel, to be of the finest quality for making cutlery. The city can be very cold in winter due to its location.
