Santa Barbara is a very scenic and beautiful small coastal town that has ocean, mountains, and pretty happy people because of a very positive atmosphere on most days.
Santa Barbara is a beautiful place with wonderful weather year round. However, the cost of living here can be absurd and it can be tough to build community if you are older than 20 years old. The city feels to be comprised of 18-22 year old college students at the University of California, Santa Barbara, or older retired folks with enough money to buy vacation homes on the coast. It can be a wonderful place to live and there are awesome places and people here, but community can be difficult to find.
When moving to Santa Barbara be prepared to pay a higher cost of living compared to other locations. Â Also, be prepared to fall in love with your new home. Â Though the cost of living is high, it is worth every penny. Â In Santa Barbara, you will have a small town vibe but you will also have access to amazing restaurants, high-end retail stores, award winning breweries and exceptional coffee shops. Â I have found Santa Barbara to be a very special place. Â I hope to remain here for many years.
