San Mateo, Rizal, is really more of an urbanized town rather than a veritable city. One mall has been established so far here near the town proper, but that’s it here as far as skyscrapers. This town city is also near the mountains, and a lot of subdivisions, including where I live, are elevated. Compared to the neighboring Metro cities, San Mateo is more peaceful with less noise and air pollution.
The place is susceptible both to floods and earthquakes. If the person wants to live in a flood-free area one should consider places that are away from bodies of water and the place would be far from the city center. Though there are some areas that are flood-free near the city center, they will cost a lot of money. It is near to a fault line so one should investigate if the house or apartment is well-suited for earthquakes.
They must know the different streets and establishments because these can make you lost as there are many similar-looking establishments. Consecutively, I recommend you always ask directions from the locals if you aren’t sure of the place you’re in. There are also many narrow roads so I suggest not to bring big vehicles always if you’re still not familiar with the place you’re going.
Our city is a high place which means no floods. it has peaceful environment yet near to commercialized sector, easy access to transportation. In our place, less crime happens because of high security and with the help of the neighbors. In speaking of neighbors, they are really approachable which makes our city very convenient and easy to adjust.
San Mateo, in the province of Rizal, is really a cramped place, with narrow roads. This is the first thing to be expected from here. That is why people visiting the place should prepare for heavy traffic. It just came to be that as establishments, homes, and all sorts of buildings started to be constructed, the roads had become narrower than needed.
Someone who wants to move to our city should know it is still a rural area. A small and old city. Based on the history the chapel on our city is one of the first ever chapel in the Luzon, next to the chapel in Marikina City. San Mateo is known for its big and greeny fields and the mountain which can be seen by our naked eye, for it is located at the foot of the mountain. It’s a good place.
Our city is a little bit overcrowded, however, people are very kind and approachable. During rush hours, heavy flow of traffic is to be expected, especially when you will go to neighboring cities for your school or job. Our city also has an overseeing spot where you can see the nearby cities.
To those moving here, they will love the great tropical climate, delicious food and fresh fruits and the warm hospitality of the Filipinos. They will also love great the scenery of our beautiful beaches and enjoy the cool breeze in our sea. At night, they will also enjoy the view of the shining stars in the mountain top.
Aside from having a kind and hospitable community, San Mateo, Rizal, is also known for being the biking capital of the Philippines. Many biking, running, and health-related events are held here.
Our city is very clean, the neighbors are all friendly also the supermarkets, grocery stores, gas stations and schools are just a walk away. Everything is on your reach! Oh! Let’s not forget about the banks, ATM’s an malls! We already have those too! And mostly, the Mayor is always available when you need her.
