The first thing about Saint Robert to note, is that it is primarily a “military town”. This means that the area is centre about the population of the local military base, which inevitably means a certain collection of enterprises – dry cleaners, multiethnic stores and eateries, and a wider-than-usual diversity of ethnicities, cultures, and nationalities. The second thing to know is that it is quite rural, which means many of the usual chain stores and facilities are absent; chains such as Target and JCPenney, for instance, require long-distance driving to get to. Thirdly, the terrain is not flat which makes for excellent opportunities for different styles of split-level housing. Finally, it is in the middle of Tornado alley – tornado warnings are numerous between June through September.

Saint Robert is small, so be warned, you many not find much to do. The weather is crazy. One day, it is hot and the next day, it is snowing. We have a lot of confused people, and they don’t know what to wear. Often, you see someone wearing flip flops and a winters coat in July.
