Rutherford offers a small-town feel, only ten miles from New York City. It’s a walkable town with many options for dining, from fast food to five-star restaurants. Although must is within walking distance, and there are frequent buses and trains into the city, you really do need a car because there isn’t a supermarket in town. Schools are usually rated quite highly, and there are a number of recreation activities available. The biggest lack to me is a community pool! There is, however, a pool in the high school, which is used by the Rutherford Swim Association ($35/mo for residents).
