Rome is an extremely family-friendly place. From block parties to craft fairs to events at Berry College, there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the year. Paddling down the Coosa, hiking up to The House O’ Dreams, and shopping at Between the Rivers Farmer’s Market are just a few of the events my family and I have enjoyed the most during our time here.

Before moving to Rome, Georgia it is important to know it has an extremely high crime rate. Although it has two highly accredited universities, there is a low percentage of the students that are actually from Floyd county. There are murders, missing people, and gang related violent acts in the headlines every other day.

Rome is a beautiful and growing college town. In fact, the largest college territory wise is in Rome. It is the famous “Berry College” which has the most beautiful hiking trails, wildlife and a big lake in the middle of the mountain. Rome is not only known for the many colleges, but for the beautiful downtown buildings, and a friendly environment that anyone would enjoy.
