Lots of jobs. Not as dangerous as the statistics. Affordable housing and good schools.

Housing is affordable and although like any other place, there are some areas that are not so great, the downtown has been experiencing revival in recent years and there are now some very beautiful spaces, murals, restaurants and shops in heart of the Rock River Valley.

Rockford is known for its Rock River, which has the annual “Everything That Floats” boating contest. This attraction, along with its many bars and bustling restaurants, has people coming to Rockford from all over. More recently, the opening of cannabis dispensaries has caused a large influx of tourism to what could at one point have been considered a sleepy town.

If a person were moving to Rockford, IL, the first thing they should take into consideration is the area; there are good parts to live in, and bad parts Although the rent tends to be much cheaper on the West side, it may be wise to consider the added risks that come with living in that area of the city.
