Richmond has all the charm of a small town, but with such close proximity to Lexington that one can also enjoy the benefits of a big city. It takes less than fifteen minutes to drive across town, but there are plenty of options for grocery stores, restaurants, and things to do. The community is fried and caring, and a new resident will feel at home right away.
Richmond, Ky has an interesting demographic compared to most city’s of similar size. With Eastern Kentucky University the population varies greatly throughout the year; during summer the population is around 40,000 but during the school year there are closer to 60,000. It is important to keep in mind the surplus of college students in the city if moving here because there is a lot more late night activity.
