Rancho Cucamonga is a beautiful city in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Located just over an hour’s drive from the bustling metropolis of Los Angeles, Rancho Cucamonga has a large array of things to do and places to eat. Three smaller communities – Etiwanda, Cucamonga, and Alta Loma – were combined to form the current incorporated city. The name “Cucamonga” is a Native American word that roughly translates as “sandy place.”

It is a really safe place. In my city there is a lot of fast food chains from where you can take your pick. There are also a lot of grocery stores where you can get fresh produce, so you can cook at your house.

Rancho Cucamonga is nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley Mountain Range, therefore future residents should be cognizant that due to the mountainous proximity of the city, mountain lions have been known to terrorize the local population, and rattlesnakes and bobcats. Future residents should also consider the suburban nature of Rancho Cucamonga, which apart from strip malls and the mountain, doesn’t offer much in the way of entertainment. Rancho Cucamonga is a very family-friendly place and the school system is regarded for its excellence all throughout San Bernardino County.
