One comment on “Port Hawkesbury”
Port Hawkesbury, originally known as Ship Harbour, is a beautiful place to live. Calling it a city isn’t quite accurate, as it has a population of only three thousand people. The weather is milder than in many other parts of Canada, without the extremes of heat and cold which typifies the more heavily-populated interior. The air is fresh and clean, and the Atlantic ocean is never far away. Walking trails and scenic beaches are everywhere. Despite our small size we have several immigrant families living in the area, as well as a mix of French, Mi’kmaq and Gaelic influences. The whole province is famous for friendly people and quiet villages, and Port Hawkesbury is no exception.
