Someone moving to Port Coquitlam should know the rapid expansion of the downtown, and a trend towards apartment development over the next few years. However, this urbanization is offset by the preservation of natural parks and trails that act as an escape from the bustle city living.

Port Coquitlam offers both friendly neighbourhoods and an abundance of hiking trails. The mild climate allows wildlife to thrive, and it makes living in Port Coquitlam even more enjoyable. Port Coquitlam’s Hyde Creek is the beginning and end of a salmon run, which is fascinating to witness (though unpleasant to smell)!
