Porac City is actually derived from the word “Purac” after the abundant Purac tress encountered by the first settlers. This city is also believed to be the first town established in Pampanga. The then Provincial Surveyor in 1879 called the river in this place “Poraq River” in his sketch of the nearby town. Puraq later became what is now known as Porac in 1867.

If someone wants to move to my city, he/they must consider the electricity. Once every two weeks, electricity is out in Porac. Most of the time, its absence lasts for a whole day, which really causes us inconvenience. Further, since Porac is not the center of our province, Pampanga, anyone has to think twice about moving here.
