It is a quiet, rural part of the world, whose inhabitants lead very simple lives. Shops and businesses close for two hours at lunchtime. The small hamlets are surrounded by fields of wheat and maize; buzzards wheeling above in their search for unsuspecting prey. Agriculture remains the predominant means of earning a living, with tourism playing an important role too (although this industry has obviously been very badly affected by ‘the current situation’).
