The cost of living is high because it is a retirement Coastal Community.

Panama City is commonly confused with its bordering town, Panama City Beach. The two areas are considerably different to live in, despite their close proximity. While many vacationers flock to the beaches in neighboring Panama City Beach, the residents of Panama City value having a much slower-paced lifestyle. Although quaint and still under construction since the last powerful hurricane, Panama City is a beautiful place to call home.

Panama City is a beautiful place to make a home. Panama City has the feel of a small town with many of the amenities of a big city. Summers can be hot, but the pristine beaches make summer heat worth the risk. Locals are mostly inviting and welcoming to new faces.

Panama City, Florida, at this time is still attempting to recover from the devastating and dreaded Hurricane Michael that hit our town hard in October of 2018. Ever since that catastrophic event there has not been any affordable housing available to the 1,000s of people who lost their homes and everything they had ever owned. If I could suggest holding off on making the move here at least for the time being I mostwould.
