Ootacamund is a town in Nilgiris district and an admirable tourist spot. Even though few facilities are not available it is a beautiful place which is slowly developing. If you are interested to live in a quiet and calm place and enjoy the scenic beauty, this place would be the best.

Ooty is not a very big town, so if someone seeks jobs in major firms involved in software and trade, then this is not the ideal place to settle. Ooty has a very nice climate. It is mostly cold out here. The people are very friendly. The accommodation prices are however, much costlier while comparing to other small towns. It is a very nice place to visit and there is a steady influx of tourists year-round. Starting a small business in Ooty will be quite beneficial, considering that the business is centred on tourists. The schools in this place are very standard. If you have children then you can provide them with an impeccable primary and secondary education. Although, the colleges located here are not that great, you can always move to the closest city for a good college education.
