Oldham, is town in the North West of England. It’s very close to the major city of Manchester and residents have excellent transport links into Manchester. Major motorways close to Oldham town centre mean that drivers can quickly get to the other major cities of Leeds and Liverpool. The town centre itself contains a shopping centre, lots of restaurants and a cinema.

Although Oldham is often known as just an old cotton mill town it is much more than that. It once used the marketing phrase “A Town in the Countryside” and that is very apt. There are many beautiful countryside villages such as Dobcross along with part of the Peak National Park within its boundaries in which to live whilst in easy commuting distance of the Manchester conurbation.

Oldham is surrounded by hills all around it, sprawling from Limeside to the countryside of Saddleworth. It is a beautiful sight when gazing out of the top floor of your house; but it can also be scary when it is windy. For then, there is nothing mediating between the hills and your house. You bear the full weight of the wind. Otherwise, Oldham is beautiful.
