Living in Olathe, Kansas:
Tips for Moving and Visiting

Olathe is consistently ranked as one of the best cities in which to raise a family. The crime rate is lower than in neighboring Overland Park, which is also ranked highly. The highways are easy to navigate and traffic flows fairly smoothly. Our family has enjoyed the many parks and school playgrounds and free or low-cost entertainment options around town. And if you want the thrill of going to another state, the Missouri border is only 15-20 minutes away!
You will get the big town life in a small town atmosphere. Meaning that it’s busy enough and has all the popular stores and places but still small enough that you don’t feel overwhelmed with a lot of traffic and big city roads. You have the main hwys right there and then all the side roads can take you somewhere. The side roads are long and easy to remember.
Someone moving to Olathe should know it is a very quiet place. Not much goes on its small suburban street, but it provides a great place to grow a family. There are ample amounts of schools and resources for children of all ages. I’d highly recommend moving in pursuit of relaxation.
Someone moving to Olathe must know that it is safe, affordable, and residents are the kindest people in the state. In the event that a new family moves in, the elderly ladies in the area will immediately be at their doorstep with a plate of fresh-baked cookies or flowers from the community garden.
