It is a small coastal town. It is well known for its steampunk culture and its Victorian style buildings in the old part of town. Oamaru is home to blue penguins, also known as fairy penguins, which are the smallest species of penguin in the world. Oamaru is a lovely town to grow old in and start a family in.

This special someone should consider themselves lucky to be moving to such a haven. Sprawling beaches perfectly compliant the small, yet vibrant urban population. Steampunks gear up! Douglas Adams once wrote ‘So long and thanks for all the fish’. by moving to this paradise-on-sea you’ll want to be reincarnated as a dolphin tomorrow just to utter such sacred words.
