Early May hosts and boasts Northampton’s annual pride parade. Thousands of people from all over attend until there is not a square foot unoccupied. From up on the hill where Smith College looms one can witness a downstream river of flags and floats bobbing harmoniously. The music is loud, but the people are louder. Downtown contains Forbes Library, Thornes Marketplace, Faces, Roz’s Place, the Hospice Shop, Shelburne Falls Coffee Roasters, GoBerry, Sweetie’s, Lucky’s, all the places that mean so much to those who live here.
