On a sunny day in the summer, you can find everyone bicycling around, the parks filled with people just relaxing, kids playing sports and pools filled with laughter. Many people refer to Nanuet as the country because it has a little bit of everything including the beauty of the trees, flowers and massive outdoor spaces.

Once the weather gets warm there are bike trails to ride on, rivers to go boating on, kayaking on and fishing galore. The warm weather brings many street fairs. The fairs sell things from clothing to jewelry to food to artwork and many more. The street fairs are a yearly event and sometimes twice a year depending upon the weather and availability the town has. It’s a great way to come up with a great find, share with others and just spend quality time with your family, friends and neighbors. Kids love the street fair because there is usually a face painter, a balloon artist, a juggler, a clown and sometimes even a psychic or tarot card reader.

Everyone knows everyone so it is a very friendly town. Services are plentiful and are patronized by the locals. It is a very walkable town. Even the guys at the car wash will give you wave as you walk by. Nanuet is a family environment. It is a great place to raise a family. The majority of people that move there stay forever.

Nanuet, NY, has a lot to offer. Although it is located in Rockland County, which is not very large, the proximity to NYC is close. Being only 30 minutes outside of Manhattan enables you to partake and engage in the many fantastic things that the city has to offer. Although Nanuet does not offer close to what Manhattan has to offer, there are many options: arcades, pool halls, bowling, a great amount of restaurants that have varying types of cuisine, along with many golf courses, a baseball stadium, one of the largest malls in the United States, ice cream parlors, and eclectic shopping.
