I grew up in this town as a child aged 6 to 15 years and I still miss my life in Africa. My father was an engineer on the copper mine and we had a good life, but I didn’t like the cruelty to the black people then in the late forties and early fifties. When my father decided to move back to England my brother and I were devastated.

It is a small mining town, with a lot of employment opportunities. It only has a shopping mall, which was recently opened. It has a lot of schools, both primary and secondary, sporting clubs like rugby, golf, swimming and long tennis. It has about four institutions of higher learning all colleges and non is a university. But it is a very quiet and peaceful city.
