Montrose is approximately 5,800 feet above sea level, meaning that one moving here should be prepared for high-altitude conditions. However, it’s also full of scenic views and gorgeous parks, not the least of which is the Black Canyon. These make the choice to move here more than worth the trouble.

Montrose is a beautiful town in western Colorado. There are many retirees who have moved in the past 10 years. This has caused the population to increase over that time period. Due to improved technology and faster internet service, many self-employed workers are able to work from their homes. The Sneffels Range of the San Juan Mountains lies 30 minutes south of Montrose.
