Monterey Park has thousands of families that have flown in from Hong Kong, Taishan, Hanoi, Manila, Hokkaido, Busan, and other places. Monterey Park is a cozy Asian sanctuary of faded signs written in Mandarin, elderly pedestrians carrying the 626 Ranch Market grocery bags, and overpriced tea shops.
