Monterey is near some of the most beautiful places on Earth – Big Sur – Carmel – Brad Pitt’s house – Pebble Beach. You’ll really enjoy it here if you like golf, cars that sell for 25 million a piece, attractive women over the age of 65, John Steinbeck, and the sounds of sea lion’s barking the night away.

Weather-wise it is a wonderful place to live, rarely too hot or too cold. But visitors should be aware in the summer months, it is typically cooler than you’d expect or plan for, especially after sundown. Always bring a jacket of some kind. A cloudy afternoon in August can be in the 50’s, even while 25 miles away inland it is nearing triple digits.

Someone moving to Monterey should consider the cost of living, weather, schools and public transportation. They should take a trip for a few days to get to see some of the everyday lifestyle and how the mood of the city itself is. They must understand that the city may look great from their perspective but is it something they would enjoy as a home.
