Situated twelve miles north of the city of Nottingham, Mansfield is famous for its association with Robin Hood, the Sheriff of Nottingham. A great place to visit would be Sherwood Forest, home of the Major Oak. Nottingham itself is a wonderful town with a great many shops. You can also visit the ‘Caves of Nottingham’ – a brilliant experience.
Mansfield is famous for its lace making and coal mines. There is a busy town center with a bustling market selling produce from local farmers. Mansfield has a town trial around the city walls taking in the derelict castle walls and jail, the town walls overlook beautiful country parks and a winding river.
