It is also known as the sugar city and some people like to call it the city of sweetness. It is in the western part of the main island and you can be sure to get sunshine most of the time. Currently, the days are hot and the nights are cold but for those coming from outside the tropics, they may find it pleasant at night but we Fijians will be wearing hoodies and will be wrapping ourselves tightly to stay warm.
Consider the extremely hot weather before moving to Lautoka City. As it is in the Western side of the main island of Fiji, it hardly rains and the climate is quite hot and humid. It is quite hard to go on with the day or spend the night without a fan or an air conditioner if indoors. The outdoors however, is bearable as it gets windy from time to time.
