It’s important to understand that the city of Lansford, Pennsylvania was not always as economically depressed as it is now. Lansford, at one time, was a booming town which boasted scores of independently owned businesses and enjoyed a robust population. It was after the decline of the coal industry that Lansford gradually became what would resemble a ghost town.
