My city is located in the middle belt part of Nigeria. This city is usually the coldest during the harmattan period of my country. It is inhabited by people who are mostly Hausa-speaking and Christians. The major occupation there is farming: growing of food crops like cereals and vegetables and poultry production.

Not everyone is that good at English over here. It becomes a challenge when you speak to someone, and there is no response. Multiple languages are spoken in this parts, hence the need to be multilingual. The people are loving, and fun to be with, especially if you meet the right person.

Anyone intending to move to Jos should know it can be quite cold here, so he/she should endeavour to get warm clothing and blanket. Another point is they need to understand a bit of the main language spoken here which is hausa, Just basics, it’s not a must but could help especially if they don’t know anyone living in Jos. There are a lot of educated people in Jos that understand the English language, but not so with the locals around Jos. Another point which they might like is there are varieties of vegetables and fruits found in Jos, and goods can be gotten at low prices compared to other major cities in Nigeria.
