Lakewood is full of diverse people and though I do not come from a military family, living in Lakewood has allowed me to start to comprehend and appreciate the vast numbers of individuals who feel so committed to their country as to fight for it. While there is so much to be considered when it comes to national pride and and the actual taking up of arms for one’s country, it is exceeding inspiring to see so many people with partners, children, and friends giving up their time for something they believe so strongly in. Seeing individuals in fatigues in the store, the YMCA, and even the McDonald’s is so very thought provoking and impressive. I can only hope to be that passionate about something someday.

As content as I am with Lakewood, Washington, I consider it to be a very quiet town. It has many of the conveniences that I would wish for in a city, but I find that there is very little to do socially. That is the main reason why I want to move out.
