Kumasi is popularly known as the Garden city of Ghana since there are a lot of trees grown all over the city. It is economically affordable to live in this city compared to the capital of Ghana, Accra. It has one of the best universities in the country which is Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Someone moving to Kumasi should know the locals are friendly, but will take advantage of people who are overly kind or gentle. It is often advised that people moving to this city acquire a local guide who is well-versed in the local culture, to avoid accidentally offending the natives.
