Not only is it hard to find a cheap, clean and permanent place, it is also hard to move through the city safely as we do not have an effective public transport system as most countries do. it is best if this person would visit my city before, unless he/she has a local friend that could help this person settle in and show him/her around.

Kota Medan is a place where not all people are too friendly or rude. You may see a stranger smile at you for being hospitable while others do not even like you take a glimpse at them. Thus, moving here requires you to have full mental ability to be able to withstand the variety of hospitality of the people, a fight in the street is a usual thing so brace yourself for hearing and watching them.
