Hull is a cheap place to live in terms of property prices and rent, especially if compared to London prices. People are friendly. Top attractions include ‘the deep’ sea life center and around the marina.

HELPFUL REPORT

While Hull was recently determined to be the city of culture, it has also been voted the worst place to live in England. I couldn’t honestly recommend it as a particularly impressive place to visit, aside from the Humber Bridge. There are friendly people, but there isn’t a great deal to do. Hopefully, with further development and investment, it will continue to improve.

House prices in Hull are low compared to the national average. Although we have a reputation as the poor relation of Leeds, there are many hidden cultural and gastronomic treasures. People in the city are generally friendly and approachable. For these reasons among others, university students from elsewhere tend to stay in the city after their courses have finished more often than in any other major city in the UK.

Someone moving to Hull should consider the location of the city, a well as the transportation links. The individual may be unable to drive and therefore should consider how they would travel to/from work. Hull is also a small city, opposed to Manchester, and lacks things such as Uber etc.
