Kannapolis, NC is a vibrant little city that is currently undergoing a dramatic change. The humble town sprung up around the textile mills that were a part of life for most residents; today, however, the mills can only be seen through what they left behind. These quaint mill houses and local traditions blend with a new era in my town, as research labs and baseball stadiums stand in place of the old brick factories in downtown Kannapolis.

Kannapolis, North Carolina, is the home of Dale Earnhardt, so it is a great place for race lovers. The city is always making changes to provide opportunities for people to socialize more and find beauty in the world. The residents of Kannapolis are among the most friendly people in the state, and they will always welcome you to their get-togethers.

When considering relocating to Kannapolis, NC, be aware of the development of the area. Research laboratories now stand in place of the textile mills that dominated the city’s culture in past decades. Downtown Kannapolis is currently being rebuilt to contain a baseball stadium, a hotel, and local restaurants – a far cry from the empty storefronts that lined the streets when I was growing up. While this revitalization will greatly benefit the city of Kannapolis in the future, the area is currently in a period of upheaval as these changes take place.
