Johns Island used to be a nice rural community. They are now building apartments on every square inch of space and the traffic is miserable.

People moving to Johns Island, SC, should know it is a sea island off the coast of South Carolina. It can be considered a suburb of Charleston, as it is a 20-minute drive to the main peninsula of the city. While close to the city, it also features beautiful water landscapes, small family farms, and landmarks such as the 400 year old “Angel Oak Tree.” Traffic can be troublesome at major intersections on the island, but most roads move quickly. Johns Island is a wonderful option for nature-loving families on a budget.
