Janesville is a city in Southern Wisconsin. There is a large “car culture,” dating back to the 1960’s. Many teens and adults drive their vehicles on Milton Avenue, located downtown. It is known as the strip, and is avoided by anyone not looking to race. Many individuals worked for the General Motor’s plant that shut down in the early 2000’s. You hear a lot about working for “the plant” by many individuals living in town. Frances E. Willard also grew up in Janesville. She was a major women’s rights activist.
