Someone moving to Jackson, in mid-Michigan, should know the primary source of employment is the prison in the heart of the city. However, despite the stigma of a prison city, Jackson is a quiet and peaceful city where people of all ethnicities and cultures reside. We are close to the water which allows for great seasonal fishing as well!

Jackson, MI, is a small city, where little thrives except for fast food chains and supermarkets. It would be surprising to find a well-paying job in Jackson, as the recession continues to significantly impact the community. However, it has its own charms, boasting a tight-knit community, and excellent educational opportunities should one have children.

In Jackson, MI there are a lot of opportunities to have fun with your children. We have numerous parks and playgrounds. Jackson also has three movie theaters. There is even a buffalo ranch where you can take a wagon ride through the pasture. They hold festivals downtown. One of those festivals is called Bright Walls, where you can watch as artists paint giant murals on the sides of buildings.
