Someone moving to the city of Highland should note that there is not a lot of urban activity. Highland is a small, family oriented community in the country. Most of the economic activity in the surrounding area is farm-related, which is bothersome to some moving there.

If moving to Highland, IL, and have school-aged children, you can expect they will receive a high quality education. Highland is also one of the safest towns in the state, with a very low crime rate. You won’t need to travel out of town to find excellent restaurants, department stores, respected financial institutions, and entertainment for all ages. Highland is a great place.
