Hemel Hempstead old town is a well known historic settlement of Tudor monarch Henry VIII. Original buildings in the old town date back to the 1500s and include the public house ‘The Rose and Crown’ where patrons can enjoy a range of local brews, beers and ciders, as enjoyed by original settlers of the town.

Hemel Hempstead is a new town with good access to central London via road and rail links. It is also well connected to the rest of the UK by road and rail connections. There are plenty of shops in Hemel Hempstead; newer and more modern stores in the ne town and more traditional style shops and inns in the Old Town area.
