Heart’s Delight is one of a series of small fishing villages on Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. It was settled in the late 1700s by Irish and English immigrants. In its early days, the settlers relied mainly on the inshore fishery. However, with the collapse of the commercial cod fishery in the late 1980’s, many were forced to relocate to the provinces of Ontario and Alberta to find work. Since then, the oil industry has brought prosperity, and the people, back to stay.
