Scenic town close to the big cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria but remains with a holiday atmosphere. Picturesque setting surrounding the 2016-hectare dam. Key town in the Magaliesberg Biosphere Reserve. Adjacent to the Cradle of Humankind and many historical battle sites.

If moving to Hartbeespoort, prepare for a full-time active outdoor life in all seasons of the year. Look forward to keeping fit and healthy the natural way, and good mental health.

Hartbeespoort is a small retirement and holiday village situated 45 km west of Johannesburg. The village mainly comprises a variety of resorts built around a large dam. Weekends see happy boaters, golfers and harley riders visiting the area, or families and friends choosing a famous restaurant for celebrations or going up the cable cars and staying over in one of the many resorts or Air B&Bs for the weekend.

Hartbeespoort is a tourist destination filled with all things to fill and restore one’s soul. If the beautiful picturesque dam in our town doesn’t convince you, then the friendly people who reside in Hartbeespoort will. Hartbeespoort is a place filled with music, art, festivals and some of the best restaurants with mouthwatering food.
