Harrisonburg is a very friendly place, and it is even called “The Friendly City”. There are lots of good restaurants with exotic cuisines. It has three colleges/universities in the surrounding area, and the public K-12 schools are diverse and have many class options. In the Shenandoah Valley, Harrisonburg has great mountain views.
Harrisonburg, Virginia, is a rapidly-growing college town that is home to a diverse range of people. It is large enough to provide ample sources of music, cuisine, and social opportunities, but it is not so large that is has problems such as crime or pollution. Roughly one third of the population is Hispanic, and there is a strong Mennonite presence. Most importantly to me, Harrisonburg is a wonderful place for raising a family.
