Hamilton, Texas, is a small town even though it serves as the county seat. The city has only one grocery store, but several drugstores probably owing to the large county hospital just a few blocks from the downtown courthouse. Like many small Texas towns, it has many beautiful, large, old Victorian houses.
Hamilton, Texas, has a quaint, small town feel. The town square is dominated by the county courthouse and surrounded on all four sides by shops, doctors offices, and restaurants. A leisurely drive around the town will reveal beautiful old houses built long ago. A three mile drive west has a large horse and rodeo arena and new hotel.
