Gilmer is a small town, but has grown in population the past several years. New businesses have moved in and the streets are gathering more traffic. There is a lake, two major grocery stores, and many drive-thru restaurants. The next closest city it about a half-hour drive. It is a nice place and raise kids.

HELPFUL REPORT

Gilmer is very small but also very friendly. Everyone knows each other. It is a close drive to many grocery stores but does not have many places to travel in itself. The schools are close knit, the teachers are friendly and every adult looks after all of the children.
