Anyone considering moving to Gastonia, NC should know that it is a safe community located right outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Gastonia is also a few miles from the South Carolina border, and gas is cheaper in South Carolina than it is in North Carolina. I want them to know that they need to take advantage of that and fill up their car tanks in South Carolina to save money. The most important piece of information that someone considering moving to my city should know is that the commute to Charlotte is quick and simple. However, be prepared to sit in bumper to bumper traffic going to and leaving work.

I suggest that someone considering moving to my city be knowledgeable about Charlotte as well as Gastonia. Most of the fun activities for residents are in Charlotte, and everyone should know where and what to do. Something is always going on in Charlotte, but returning to a quiet suburb at the end of the day is cathartic.

Tucked away in my hometown of Gastonia, NC is an obscure wonder called Crowders Mountain. This mountain, while close to the Appalachian Mountains, is actually a monadnock: an isolated mountain that rises abruptly from the surrounding terrain. While small, Crowders packs a punch with its steep trails and gorgeous views that look over the vast Carolinas. No matter how far from home I go, when I return, I always climb up to the highest pinnacle and am greeted with memories of family hikes, picnics with friends, romantic dates and crisp southern breezes. This mountain is where I spent time with those I hold closest; it is forever tucked away in my heart.

Someone moving to Gastonia should know we are within 50 miles of Charlotte. There are many hospitals in the area that offer top-quality care. We also have a rapidly growing food industry, with new and exciting restaurants opening all the time. Downtown Gastonia is gentrifying quickly, and there are lots of opportunities for people from all walks of life!

Gastonia is a becoming a large and profitable city. Many new retailers are moving their businesses here. There are several new complexes being built and other buildings being renovated to accommodate all the new business projected to start in the city in the next few years. Recently, a bowling alley was demolished and a new strip mall built in its place. This new retail center brought two restaurants the citizens of Gastonia have enjoyed quite a bit.

When moving to Gastonia, it is important to note that the city is approximately 20 miles from Charlotte. Additionally, the airport in Charlotte is approximately 20 minutes from most of the population in Gaston County. This fact has created a bedroom community relationship with Charlotte. Many citizens are employed in the larger city.
