Sri Ganganagar District is a northernmost district of Rajasthan state in western India. The town of Sri Ganganagar is the district headquarter. Earlier Sri Ganganagar District was a part of Bikaner State and is named after the King of Bikaner, Maharaja Ganga Singh. Because of a significant Punjabi population this place is known as ‘The Punjab of Rajasthan’. It is also the ‘breadbasket of Rajasthan’.
