Folsom is a small yet growing city, within easy commuting distance to the state capital, Sacramento, and about 90 minutes from Lake Tahoe to its east. Known for its pleasant neighborhoods, good school districts, relatively low crime rate, and natural beauty, Folsom is an excellent choice for families. With proximity to Folsom Lake and the American River, and miles of hiking trails, Folsom will win the heart of an outdoors person. History buffs will enjoy the charming old-town Folsom with buildings and monuments harkening back to the Gold Rush era of 1949.
